Chia-Yang Hsu

Pianist, Pirze Winner of 11th Weimar-Bayreuth International Liszt Piano Competition

Born in Taiwan, Chia-Yang Hsu pursued his degree at the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg, studying under the renowned pianist Professor Stepan Siominian. He became an artist of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation in Germany and the Miratone Foundation in Hungary.

In 2024, he wsa awarded the second prize at the 11th Weimar-Bayreuth Liszt International Piano Competition, along with two special awards for Best Classical Sonata and Best Chamber Music Work. Previously, he won prizes in several international competitions, including the ICoM International Piano Competition, the Elise-Meyer Foundation Competition in Germany, the Mahler Music Festival, and the AI International Piano Competition in China. His performances have taken him ot various countries, including China, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Bulgaria, and the UAE. He has been invited to many renowned music festivals, such as the Bayreuth Festival and the Hamburg Composers' Festival. Atthe age of 14, he made his concerto debut with the Xiamen Youth Orchestra and has since performed with top orchestras, including the Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra, Norddeutsche Philharmonie and the Weimar Staatskapelle.
